Gayatri Kembhavi-Tam, PhD, is a paediatric physical therapist with over 25 years of experience working with children and families, teaching and training, and supporting research and evaluation.
Her areas of research interest and expertise include children and youth with disabilities, community inclusion and participation for people with special needs, interprofessional communication and collaboration, and qualitative and participatory research methods. Gayatri is passionate about working with community-based organisations to increase their use of evidence in programme delivery in order to deliver better services for the clients they support.
Gayatri has lived and worked in Canada, the UK, and Asia, including in low-resource settings. Her work has covered a range of activities, including research and capacity-building.
In her role as Director with CEI, Gayatri leads and supports programme evaluations, evidence synthesis projects, and the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative approaches to service delivery for children and families. Gayatri has a PhD from University College London (UK) with a focus on international development and disability, and a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta (Canada).
