We help our partners to understand the program and policy landscape by identifying what exists, who it is for, and how it works.
A landscape and policy scan summarises the most relevant programs or policies, interventions, or initiatives in a specific field in a particular geography or context. We use rigorous and transparent methods to conduct our landscape and policy scans. We also map what is happening now against what is known to work using published international evidence. We may provide case studies of commonly observed and evidence-based practice and programs.
With our partners, we use landscape and policy scans to help identify gaps and opportunities for program and system strengthening. Once we identify what is currently happening, we can work with our partners to determine what more is needed – whether that is creating new programs, enhancing existing programs, or advocating for policy improvement or change. This can inform strategy and activities for governments, funders, and social service agencies.
