Aron Shlonsky is Professor and Head of Social Work at Monash University, and a Research Associate at the Centre for Evidence and Implementation where he also sits on the Methods Lab. He is Editor-in-Chief of Children and Youth Services Review, a leading international child welfare journal. He was previously Professor of Evidence-Informed Practice at University of Melbourne (Social Work); Chair in Child Welfare at University of Toronto Faculty of Social Work and an Assistant Professor at Columbia University School of Social Work.
Shlonsky is an applied researcher who is known internationally for his work in child and family services, particularly in the generation, synthesis and implementation of evidence to inform practice and policy as well as longitudinal data analytics. He has been primary Chief Investigator, Chief Investigator, or Co-Investigator on over 70 contracts and grants in Australia and internationally. He is Co-Author of Implementation Science 3.0 (Springer, 2020) and Systematic Synthesis of Qualitative Research (Oxford University Press, 2012). Shlonsky has authored and co-authored over 100 other books, peer-reviewed journal articles and reports in social services including on child maltreatment, family services, housing and homelessness, and Social Work.
