Our first newsletter!
Every two months our newsletter will deliver the latest projects and developments in our field. We will share news about innovative research and events, and introduce you to people making a difference on the ground.
Who we are
We work with partners around the globe to improve the lives of children, families and communities using clear evidence and implementation science. We help policymakers access and understand the best evidence so their decisions make a difference on the ground.
Meet our people
Our team members are experts in the fields of evidence and implementation science. So you can get to know us better, each newsletter will introduce you to one of our exceptional team members – starting with our Executive Director, Dr Robyn Mildon.
Robyn’s long and impressive career has focused on using evidence to achieve social impact for children, families and communities in health and human services. She has led many multi-year initiatives aimed at applying evidence to improve real-world services and policies. Robyn has collaborated with government and non-government agencies in Australia, Singapore, Norway, Sweden, the USA and New Zealand, and has been an invited speaker at multiple events around the globe.
Improving community health worker programs
We are collaborating with international partners, including the World Health Organisation (WHO), to improve the effectiveness of community health worker programs around the world. Our findings from 16 systematic reviews will be used by the WHO to create new guidelines for community health worker program guidelines.
The Family Matters Report Card
We partnered with SNAICC National Voice for our Children, the University of Melbourne, and Save the Children Australia to produce the Family Matters Report. The report is a comprehensive overview of the trends and challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island children and young people in child protection and out-of-home care.
LifeSpan: Saving lives from suicide
We are working with the Black Dog Institute to design and implement LifeSpan: an evidence-informed approach to suicide prevention in NSW. We are currently preparing the program for implementation across four local NSW trial sites, and to identify and remove implementation barriers.
