EIS 2023: Abstracts calling, speakers announced

Get your abstract submitted by 4 June to have the opportunity to join our line-up of outstanding speakers at EIS 2023!

The Evidence and Implementation Summit (EIS) 2023 is taking place globally online and in-person in Melbourne, Australia, 9-11 October.

We are seeking abstracts for presentations, panels and lightning talks, across 12 areas of interest – spanning health and mental health, family and social services, First Nations perspectives, international development and climate change.

Selected abstracts will have the opportunity to be published in an implementation science open-source journal.

EIS 2023 brings together experts from across the globe to share their experiences in generating and implementing evidence for better policy and practice.

Article: 'Doing better for vulnerable children'

Writing in The Mandarin, CEI's Dr Vanessa Rose and Dr Melinda Polimeni draw attention to how Australia's policymakers might better address child maltreatment. An evidence-based approach to policy and practice can support better outcomes.

A real-world approach to evaluating youth mentoring programs

CEI has partnered in a multi-site randomised controlled trial of youth mentoring, working across 17 youth organisations across the UK – with YMCA George Williams College and Bryson Purdon Social Research, and funded by the Youth Endowment Fund.

With successful results in hand, the program is now moving to a full efficacy trial to measure the impact of mentoring on young people’s socio-emotional development and self-confidence.

How to bridge the ‘know-do’ gap in healthcare 

CEI was recently invited by Singapore Institute of Technology to provide healthcare leaders, therapists and doctors with strategies to improve uptake of new, evidence-based interventions into routine practice.

Scaling what works with Movember

CEI hosted a three-day Knowledge Sharing workshop in London recently for global men’s health charity Movember, as part of its Scaling What Works (SWW) program.

SWW is supporting the spread and scale-up of 16 promising projects that target the mental health of men and boys in Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada – so that more people can benefit.
